    MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT AND MEDIATOR

    Eisenberg consults and mediates across a wide range of disciplines drawing upon thirty-plus of negotiation and management of complex business environments. He has served in key senior executive positions including Chief Revenue Officer for Alaska Communications and VP Corporate Strategy/Strategic Marketing Planning for Sprint Corporation. David’s advisory practice focuses on strategy, development, process improvement and marketing. He serves as a professional in residence for the University of Alaska’s Business Enterprise Institute and also as the Chair of the Advisory Board of the Manufacturing Enterprise Partnership. David and his wife, Karen, are active investors in areas ranging from coffee manufacturing to community banking.

  • Steven Patin, PhD

    SENIOR VP & HR DIRECTOR FIRST NATIONAL BANK ALASKA

    With over two decades as a US Army officer and more than 10 years of executive experience in both the public and private sector, Patin knows the value of a strong team. As Human Resources Director, Patin leverages his experience to provide strategic human resources leadership and to direct talent management, compensation, and benefits, employee relations, and policies.

    Patin earned a Bachelor of Science from West Point concentrating in Behavioral Science and Systems Engineering before earning a master’s degree in Human Resources Management and another in Administration and Supervision. Patin also holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from University of the Incarnate Word, San Antonio, Texas.

  • H. Charles Sparks, PhD CPA

    PROFESSOR OF ACCOUNTING AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ALASKA FAIRBANKS

    Charles is a professor of accounting in the College of Business and Security Management and serves senior financial advisor to the UA President. He holds PhD and Master degrees in accounting from the University of Iowa, his undergraduate degree in accounting was earned at UAF (School of Management).

    His professional experience includes an active CPA license from Alaska, prior to attending graduate school he worked for the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation where he was the senior accountant, and prior to that served as an audit senior for the international accounting firm Ernst & Young LLP. Charles has served as the accounting expert on several projects for the University of Alaska’s Business Development Group. These contributions have involved fisheries development, mariculture business incubators, and UA restructuring committees. He also has extensive experience as an expert witness in many litigation cases.

    Dr. Sparks has published a portfolio of articles on small business development and related topics. His research was recognized by the American Accounting Association Auditing Section’s prestigious Notable Contribution Award in 2006. He has received a number award for his teaching (including the 2010 Dennis Demmert Award).
